Vero Beach has a kick back and relax kind of atmosphere. It is low stress living compared to many other states. It has a perfect balance between business and living a vacation lifestyle.
Getting around Vero Beach may seem to be complicated, but it really isn’t. The city of Vero Beach is mainly the area west of the causeways between Indian River Drive and Route 60. The Island or Beach side Vero Beach are the areas located on or near A1A and is a short drive East over one of the causeways. The west side of Vero is between Route 60 and 95. The main routes to go north or south is A1A, Route 1 and I95. To go west Route 60 (20th Street) is the main route.
Traffic is busy during certain times of the year. The popularity of the area depends on what time of the year it is. The peak travel season begins around October and last through April. During the travel season, it is a little more crowded than the spring and summer months of the year. It’s great for those who do enjoy a lively lifestyle but who also like a quiet community.
The water is one of the biggest source of entertainment. There is a lot to do in Vero Beach and a lot of the activities are water-based. Boating, kayaking, sailing, fishing, swimming and spending time watching the sunrises over the ocean. These are just a few favorites of both tourists and residents alike. Some other things that you should be aware of while you are planning your move to Vero Beach:
- Each community has different rules and regulations. Make sure that you have a full understanding on what they allow or don’t allow. Some communities don’t allow trucks, boats, motorcycles, extra vehicles, RV’s etc…
- Have a back up plan if you are purchasing a home or having one built. Closing does not always happen on the expected date and you would not want to be stuck in a situation.
- Florida does not have basements or attics. It is recommended to measure the space of your new place to make sure your belongings will fit in that limited area. You may want to eliminate the things that won’t fit or find storage for those things that you would like to keep.
- If you are planning on using storage, begin calling as soon as a month ahead of time. Storage facilities fill up quick and you do not want to have to drive miles to get to one.
- You may want to find out what storage facilities rent out trucks if you are using Penske, Budget, Uhaul, etc.. This way you can bring the truck back to the place closest to you and if you are using storage, you can drop off the truck at that facility when you are done unloading.
